Module 27
Daily Fine Motor Activity Menu
20 activities organized by type — pick 2-3 daily for consistent skill building
How to Use This
How to Use This: Pick 2-3 activities from different categories each day. Variety matters more than volume — mixing Art/Craft, Play, and Self-Care activities builds different muscle groups and skills.
Start Here
Start Here: Begin with playdough and sticker peeling — they require no special supplies and build core hand strength. Add cutting practice once your child can safely hold scissors.
| Activity | Type | Ages | Time | Materials |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Playdough letters / shapes | Art/Craft | 2+ | 10 min | Playdough, letter mats |
| Cutting practice (lines, shapes, pictures) | Art/Craft | 3+ | 10 min | Safety scissors, paper |
The Broken Crayon Trick
Use broken crayons on purpose. Small crayons (1-2 inches) force the tripod grip because kids can't wrap their whole fist around them. It's the cheapest fine motor tool there is.
Next Steps
Next Steps: Track which activities your child enjoys most and build a consistent daily routine around them. After 4 weeks, revisit the Fine Motor Milestone Tracker to check for progress.
