Word Inventory Tracker
Track your child's vocabulary growth over time
Word Inventory Tracker
Tracking vocabulary growth over time is the most reliable way to measure language progress. Approximations count (e.g., 'ba' for ball, 'nana' for banana). Update this weekly.
Milestone Reference

| 18 months | 10-20 words | Points to body parts, uses pointing to communicate |
| 24 months | 50+ words | 2-word combinations, 50% intelligible to strangers |
| 30 months | 200+ words | Short sentences, asks simple questions |
| 36 months | 1000+ words | 3-4 word sentences, 75% intelligible to strangers |

When to Act
A sudden jump in word count (vocabulary explosion) typically happens between 18-24 months. If your child is over 24 months with fewer than 50 words, seek a speech-language evaluation.
